It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that our lovely little shop on Church Plain, Mattishall will be closing.
We all know by now that there has been a steady shift in retail to online sales and bigger stores are finding it hard to cope.
Hewitts is no exception to that. We have noticed a decline in footfall and when you throw into the mix a global pandemic of the proportion we have seen in the last 12 months, it has been all the more difficult. The current lease has expired and our time has come to move on!
I would like to thank you, our lovely customers for supporting us over the last 12 years. We raised the shop from dead and in poor condition. After a good scrub and deep clean, we set off with the task of serving the village. Which is what we did!
Thanks to all our suppliers, farmers and producers, keep up the good work, we love what you do.
But most of all I would like to thank the staff that have kept you served for those 12 years – Bob, Mick, Andy, John, Jamie and all the guys that have stood behind the counter for you.
